Gogglebox Introduction

At the start of each Gogglebox of the last series they show a load of short clips, probably from the first episode of the series or from an earlier series. I'm curious about the bit with the Malones. Julie says, "We're not going to watch that again." Tom says, "Not without an instruction manual." What programme had they been watching?

I do remember one of the few occasions when i've caught the programme the 'stars' were watching 'Only Connect' and even retired schoolteacher Leon was having trouble deciphering the clues. It may well have that they were watching.
