Surround Sound Speakers Info?
6 Answers
Sorry this might be a silly question to ask but im a complete duffer when it comes to the latest technology but Im thinking of buying a cinema surround sound speaker system for my TV.. What I want to know is do these 5.1 speaker systems ive seen involve a lot of wire cables spawning from the main unit to the individual speakers or do they work through a wireless system? Any information anyone can offer will be fully appreciated.. Many thanks in advance

Sadly no one can replicate FABULOUS sound using a wire free system yet. God knows Mister Sense and I tried to source one earlier in the year but had to settle for a wired system in the end! We were getting a new wood floor so we ran the cables under it.

If you don't like the Idea of loads of wires, maybe you should have a look at the Yamaha YSP-800 virtual surround sound speaker system.
Its about 500, it's an all in one box that has loads of mini speakers that ping the sound off your walls creating surround sound. gets very good reviews!!

Well if we look carefully at what you get with a 5:1 system.
Two front speakers, easy to hide the wires.
A subwoofer on the ground beside the TV, easy to hide the wire.
A centre speaker, probably on top of the TV, easy to hide the wire.
Two rear speakers, probably behind you, high up, near the ceiling. Not easy to hide the wires, but if you run them up near where the wall meets the ceiling you will hardly notice them.
I wil not pretend you do not get a lot of wires, but when it is on it is just like being in the cinema.
