Tempur Mattress

Thinking of replacing our mattress, we have a memory foam one at the moment but was thinking of upgrading to a Tempur one.

Are they really worth the extra? We don't mind splashing out if it's worth it, has anyone got one?

Yes and I love it but they are very marmite.

What woof said, we wouldn't have anything else but they are different feel at first to a normal mattress and some find them hot but I love ours.

Ok thanks, we already have a normal memory foam mattress and we like the feel of it if you know what I mean but it was much cheaper than Tempur.

But now it's time to change it we wondered if it was worth the extra.

I have never had a cheaper one. When we bought ours, they were much less common and the difference in price between tempur and the others was much less so we just went straight for it.

I'd seriously suggest you look at Which? before buying a Tempur mattress...it's the only "Don't Buy" brand they tested. They said that they are wildly overpriced and have poor durability...there are far superior memory foam mattresses available at a third of Tempur prices.

We've had ours for at least 12 years (is that disgusting!!) and it's still like new.

I had a tempur brand for about 13 years and it still seems fine. My woman has a cheaper thicker overlay on her bed. It's softer than my mattress but seems fine also. Maybe best to try stuff out in the showroom ? Not that I did; I bought on the Net based on tempur reputation.
