Dog claws

My dog appears to have lost one of her claws. Her paw, although sore, looks OK, but I'm just wondering if the claw will grow back. Does anyone know about these things? Thanks.

Apparently, the claw may well grow back, but the condition is quite serious and, if left untreated, she could have lost her toe. As it is, she's had a big jab of antibiotics, and is on antibiotic pills twice a day for a week, and is wearing a very fetching lampshade to stop her licking at her paw all the time! She hasn't quite got to grips with it yet, and keeps bashing into things as she walks about! She's looking a bit sorry for herself at the moment, but I'm sure she knows it's for the best. :-)
jjf, I think she's gradually getting used to her lampshade, although she still comes to a grinding halt if she bumps into anything with it! She can't work out that she has to back up or move her head if she wants to continue - it's no good waiting for the sofa to move! Also, she is looking very stylish in the sock she wears on her paw to keep it clean when out in the garden!! She must be the most fashionable pooch around! As for the lampshade - sure you can have it, if dog-slobber and fur are your style!! :-)
