I caught a bit of this last night – an all women cast but what an eclectic mix of people! Among others, feisty ex-politician Ann Widdecombe, Boris Johnson’s journalist sister Rachel, movie and television icon Amanda Barrie who is now married to a woman, transgender India Willoughby (formerly reporter Jonathan Willoughby), and Maggie Oliver, former detective with Greater Manchester Police who resigned from the police force citing its ineffectiveness in dealing with the Rochdale child grooming ring, An interesting social experiment going on there I’d say. Will sparks fly? I shall watch with interest.
I confess i don't like the programme, i have seen it once or twice but feel its past its sell by date.
But I have to give them their due all those women should make an interesting experiment. Didn't the programme makers say that it will be all women for now, so men could be joining the cast.
But it might surprise you to know, that despite Widdecombe being a Tory, I was always something of an admirer of hers. She was a no-nonsense, plain speaking woman, and what you saw is what you got....
a refreshing quality amongst politicians of any persuasion.
But its a great pity that people will remember her for these daft programs, rather than the way she stood up to some of her Cabinet colleagues.
it is a very eclectic mix of women, i like Rachel Johnson very much, she has her brothers kind of wit, as to Amanda Barrie amazed she is still going, but good for her for participating.
Am answering this just because Anne asked what "girls" thought, and I so want to be still a girl;)
Not got much interest in it, but I think Amanda Barrie is still pretty.
anneasquith, a large six figure sum for spending a few weeks in the house would be a great incentive. I doubt even the most virtuous would turn that down.
gingejbee, it is indeed trash television from Channel 5. It has, however, thrown together an unusually eclectic mix of people, the prospective outcome of which I, as someone who keenly observes the psychology of human nature shall, personally, find interesting.
I lost interest in 'celeb' big brother many years ago and only bother with I'm a celebrity get me out of here these days however it maybe worth a look.
