Anybody watching Fred Dibnah on BBC2? Brings back many memories. I used to work in a weaving shed. You just can't imagine how noisy it was. I was only 15 when I started there. I'm convinced the hearing defects I have now were caused by that place. Happy days!

my Great Aunt Eva worked half time in the weaving sheds in Todmorden from the age of 13, she can lip read perfectly and has a wicked SOH even at 93.

Fred Dibnah was from near Bolton not far from me and he was popular here long before his TV career took off.
