Tis a sad day.... Syd Barrett

I hate it when someone big in music dies. Pink Floyd were and are such a fantastic group, I have in the last few years rediscovered them. I remember growing up having to listen to my dads LP's and thinking they were strange but now older and I would like to think wiser, I now know they were/are/always will be superb. 'Wish you were here' is one of my favourite albums alongside 'Momentary lapse of reason'. What a shame they never got back together and what a shame such a legend has passed away. I so wish I was older so I would have had a chance to see them, would have been such an experience. I know some of you AB'ers have so come on share.... Wheres Andy I would imagine he has had a chance to?

Oh dear, I didn't know he had died. When di that happen? I know he went a bit strange and went back to live with his Mum and when the other band members went to see him after a few years, he said he didn't know them, so I suppose he wasn't too well for some years, perhaps a mental breakdown? It's a shame that he and the man who modelled himself on Syd, Marc Bolan, have both gone now.

Was lucky enough to see them at Earls Court about 10 years ago and to hear Gilmore play those first few chourds makes me cry even to this day
