Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening

I've had a letter to attend the above. Has anyone undergone this procedure, as I've never heard of it.

Yes I go every 12 months after suffering just such an Aortic Aneurism. My chances of surviving the event were calculated at 1% when it happened. Go and have the scan. You will be given a CT surveillance scan after a fluid that helps the scan is introduced via a needle into your arm. No worries.

Strange thing is Sqad, yesterday I got a copy of the letter that was sent to my GP and other departments in the NHS from my recent December scan. I have been laughing and teasing "She who must be obeyed" and my Daughter who is herself holding down a responsible medical position in the NHS. The letter from the consultant begins.......

""I reviewed this extremely pleasant gentleman in our Aortic Aneurism Clinic today."

Still laughing.....it is official, I have it in writing from an eminent consultant. :))

Mine is not abdominal Baldric. I have a contrast dye put into me every time I go. Perhaps all CT scans do not, but I always get it.

Just found it Thoracic Aortic Aneurism is what I am being monitored for.
