according to medical advice you're probably heading for trouble, along with a large portion of the adult population.
I'm sure it's 28 units for men and 21 for women now though.

In the old days a unit was one glass of wine. However the measure for a "glass" is now bigger (even in pubs) and the wine has gone from an average of 5% to an average of 13% proof. I must admit I can easily drink between 1/2 and 1 bottle of wine per night (whilst cooking, watching telly etc) and don't even know that I'm doing it. My father is an alcoholic so every now and then my brother and I stop for 2 weeks just to make sure we can. We have loads of spirits in the house but its the wine that tempts me.... I am now on my 5th day into my 2 week abstinence and water is no substitute for my cheeky little chardonnay!! I am sleeping a lot better, have more energy and expect to lose about 6-10 pounds (I usually do on these un-binges) So I should do it more often

I drink less than I did purely through the advice and support I read on here from a few of the other abers, it really helped, seriously, i only have a few drinks a week now, much less than i was doing.

well, i had 19 units last night, so that leaves me with 9 left for the next 6 days :-(
