I watched last nights program, and I was pleasantly surprised by all the crisp, colour footage of the ceremony. I am not sure I had seen that footage before.

i turned off the tv when it came on, I like the Queen but wasn't that interested in the Coronation as a programme.

My woman wanted to watch it so we had it on; then she fell asleep on my shoulder and missed it whilst I couldn't even turn over. Arrhhhh !!!!!!

OG...I am far from being a Royalist, as you will know !

But I was impressed with the way that the ceremony was planned and carried out. Considering the problems that we still faced in 1953, what with the War only being over 8 years before, it was remarkable that we did it at all, let alone as well as we did.

By the way, the coronation happened just 2 days before I was born. My Mum used to tell me that a TV was wheeled into the Maternity Ward of her Hospital, in North London, so she and the other mothers could watch, although my screaming interfered with the sound !

I thought it rather strange when the Queen thought it unusual to have witnessed two Coronations.

Surely Prince William will be able to say the same, and his successor and onwards.

I didn't really think her comments about her kids playing with her train was really necessary.

Betty can be a bit of a sourpuss at times. She must be the scariest person in the world to interview !
