Are the Labourites on here still happy to support a party that is purging itself of all moderates?

Mikey is always going on about the Pseudo Tories under Saint Tony but they are an ocean apart from the Trots running Labour now yet "Labour" supporters still back them. YMB is bang on Middle England decide who wins elections and they won't want a hard left lot running the country. As for the polls, they are out of the window, due to almost total polarisaton the Tories got almost the same percentage of the votes in 2017 as Saint Tony did in 1997, so do not take any comfort from any polls.

The thing is though to the current labour leadership the Labour Party that embraced PFI is just as evil as the Tories so arguing that it was a labour thing too won’t wash.

There is still probably 4.5 years until the next Election, although it may come sooner than that....after all, we never expected May to call the disastrous Election in 2017, so soon after Cameron winning the 2015 Election did we ?

So, there is still time for everything to change. But at the moment, Labour is doing rather better than people expected, and the Tories are doing rather worse.

Itchy....most people now accept that PFI can go wrong, Labour included.

I think the scandal of the past 7 days will be its death knell.

The point was tho that just as New labour tried to shuffle off old labour so Corbyn labour had finevtge sane to new labour. The pfi past is another country. With even the Davos group set to debate the ‘evils’ of capitalism next week arguably the terms of the economic Debate are changing in labour’s favour. The Tories by contrast look caught flat footed, and completely caught up in Brexit.
But what do you think of labour’s stance on foreign policy issues? We have a leader who not only does not believe in the EU but does not believe in NATO. That worries me.

Whether or not Labour moves to the right or the left does not concern me. I never voted for Blair and I won't be voting for Corbyn. The only faint hope that Labour has of being elected is if the Tory government goes completely tits up. I can't see that happening; they are the great political survivors. Roughly 350 years and still going strong.

Just a thought. How important should foreign affairs be to voters if the the UK influence on the world today is so insignificant? Does it really matter which colour flag we choose to wave on the sidelines?

What makes us think we deserve a place at the world top table for making decisions? The Empire has gone and we are just an island 'state' and even some of our constituent parts want to break away (Scotland, possibly Wales).

Since we joined the EU our voice on the world stage has become a stage whisper. We are no longer great in that respect.

To demand a place simply because we want one is not good enough. We should not be afraid be part of the world in our own right and commiserate with our ability.

If as I read very recently the armed forces may lose more funding, we should be pulling back from world conflict and have a defence force to be record with. Not an underfunded world army.

Very important I would have thought. Considering a lot of it is to do with defence. Of course, we all have only one vote each, and not many people will vote for a party on the basis of their foreign policies.
I don't think our influence is insignificant. Brexit is not going to help that though.
