Regarding transferring contacts. Both phones are on Android, so if you register them to the same account, and enabled synching, all you contacts, and apps should install automatically to the new phone.

If your new phone is on the same network that you're currently on, then you can simply put your old sim card into the new phone and off you go :)
With the transferring of the contacts, that could be a bit trickier - have you got a google (gmail) account and if so, when you save your contacts, where do you save them to:
.... you can save them to your google account, in which case you can transfer them easily enough, like TheChair said.
Or ...... you can save them to your phone, in which case, you might have to Bluetooth your contacts from your old phone to your new phone.
Or .... you can save them to your sim card - your contacts will obviously be transferred when you put your old sim card into your new phone.

To synch them, it doesn't actually matter where you save them to.
If you set up a google account on the old phone (Settings/Accounts), which you will probably already have done in order to use the Play store, then turn on synching, all the data, apps, contacts, etc, will be backed up to the cloud.
If you then do the same on the new phone, all those things will automatically appear on the new phone.

Use your Google account to sync the contacts you need. Go to settings, you can follow the directions to log in your google account, then you can sync the contacts. By the way, you can also use a phone to phone transfer tool that allows you to transfer data between phones, https:/ /www.mo bikin.c om/mobi le-phon e/trans fer-con tacts-f rom-and roid-to -androi d.html, hope it helps.
You can through many ways to finish this thing, you can find a mobile transfer tool, and link two devices with computer, and it show you the file type of "Contacts" to move from one phone to another phone.
