That certain ABers are using personal names other than the Username and i feel that this is a retrograde step, not to be encouraged as it indicates a degree of selectiveness and exclusivity..........a sort of "old Pal's"
I am sure that you will agree.

Pssssst, oi you two don't use both my names.
Sorry, Martin...which one shall we use?... :-(
Jasper.
Sqad - I use my personal name because I registered back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, and everyone used their personal names because pseudonyms were simply not used in those days.

Originally, my name had a space, not a hyphen, but due to a tech glitch way way back, I had to re-register and my history started again from that date.
you obviously have no issue with your username Andy. Good for you ., I fail to see why it had to be pointed out though .
Anne - // you obviously have no issue with your username Andy. Good for you ., I fail to see why it had to be pointed out though . //

None at all - I don't subscribe to Sqad's theory, but it has made an interesting thread.

AOG is quite right though, I will not tolerate being addressed as 'Hughes' - but that is a rule of life, not the AB.

I haven't been called 'Hughes' since I left school and that was forty-six years ago. I wasn't of an age then when I could demand basic respect - I am now!
I once posted I had had a £25 cheque for winning a certain crossword.
Somebody, and I can't remember who was quick to reply
Congratulations Mrs ????????
He or she had gone to the trouble of looking up winners of the crossword and working out which one was me.
We do often forget how much we reveal, I once posted a view from my window and a poster commented they could walk straight to my door just by looking at it.

It was totally harmless but makes you think sometimes.
It's not hard to guess my name .But in real life I don't often use my first name, Edward.
M, I think that's very scary, I'm very protective of my details but its easy to let our guard down .
// It was totally harmless but makes you think sometimes.//

it sure does - I posted an idle thought about pie and chips or some other common supper and got a load of ear ache about how I MUST have accessed s/o's facebook posting on .... pie and chips. And it just went on and on with others piling in about how it was OBVIOUS that I had accessed someone secret secret recipe book and ALL outraged that I had been such a cad

Jesus.
Well, my name's Jack
And I live in the back
Of the Greta Garbo home
For wayward boys and girls.

Anyone remember that?
Yes

There goes Fred with his hands on his head cause he thinks he's heard the bomb
And here comes Superman who really puts it on
There's lots of fun and I love to run up and down the stairs
I make as much noise as I want and no one ever cares

I wasn't afrain Anne and it was my own doing.
“Oswald?”

Now that’s a name you don’t see that often, that and “Gertrude”
Manfred Mann. Still going at the age of 77.
Yes, happy memories of them.
