Emmie....I am not sure it ever really went away. The Jews are still seen as legitimate targets for hate. That is why Holocaust denial is still a crime in so many countries.

The Jewish section of our local Council-owned Cemetery has had to have a very stout fence and gates fitted, because of attacks.

Its sad but true that some people will always need to find someone to be a scapegoat when things go wrong.

I was watching Andrew Marr last night, and he talked about Oswald Mosley and his rise as the head of the British Union of Fascists in the 1930s. Shocking in the extreme.

but in France, that is very serious in consideration that is twofold, in the war there was the Vichy French who gave up the Jews to the Germans, and now that France has a massive Muslim population this could increase anti Semitism right across the country.

The unemployment rate in France rose to 9.7 percent in the three months to September of 2017 from 9.5 percent in the previous period with youth unemployment at 21.8.

This coupled with a reaction to extreme liberal views being forced on the populous will always lead to people looking for a reason. In Europe in recent times this has fallen on the Jews. I suspect anti Semitism across Europe never really went away, it just festered beneath the surface due to laws, now there is a big Muslim populations who by and large hate the Jews with a Passion we are starting to see the beginnings of a perfect Storm for hatred against Jews.

I cant see it going away unfortunately.

I would doubt anti semitism across Europe is mainly attributable to an increase in muslims. The far right has also risen throught the continent and they on the whole are also anti Jew.

I am also a bit unconvinced by any apparent dramatic rise in incidents. The huge rises in the UK are mainly down to the employment of Shomrim and Community Security Trust who bump up the anti semitism incident figures to get Home Office Grants.

That was in the 1930s mikey, perhaps you would be better employed taking note of what is taking place in the 2000s.

According to this report there has been a drop in anti-semitic incidents, mainly due to Jewish and Muslim segregation.

so not isolated incidences, but are on the rise, that fact should be worrying not just to the French, but right across Europe, including here.

Seems you would rather blame far-right groups, than those who hold a religious and political hatred towards the Jews, going back many years.

its difficult to know just who is doing it, could be far right groups, or local Muslims who have a grievance, this latest boy seems to have been attacked by youngsters, what are we teaching our children i wonder. The fact is its not going away any day soon, and that the police should crack down on it... whether its in France or in UK
