Hide Facebook Messages

There are three faint dots to the right of FB message boxes. Hovering over them shows that it's possible to hide a message. Twice I saw my FB message displayed but it has disappeared so I assume I must have accidentally clicked on the dots. But how to retrieve it?

There should be the word 'undo' just where the three dots are. If you press that your should be able to see your message. It only works if you haven't gone on to another post though. I think when they're gone, they're gone.
