Examples of tattoos
10 Answers
I have been thinking for some time of having my daughters name tattoo'ed on my wrist. I know its not the most common place for a lady to have tattoo but I have decided I am going to go ahead.
However I would like a style of writing that is original i.e. not old fashioned english script a la Posh Spice and I dont want arabic a la David Beckham because everybody has already jumped on that band wagon.
Any good sites with examples???
Any personal opinions???
Thank you all in advance

I just told my tattooist what I wanted and he tried out a couple of styles. He made a couple of suggestions as to how to improve the way it looked and then drew the template free hand.
Sorry I can't suggest any sites, but perhaps you could go into the tattoo shop and see if they have any books to look through.

If you want it written in english, why not consult the various microsoft font options for inspiration. They have a very wide variety.

Why does it reek of incest?
I would have it done in English, if I were you. The problem with foriegn languages is that the words don't often mean the same thing in English, and the translations aren't exact.
I've got a tattoo of a wolf paw on my wrist, and I was just careful that it would be hidden under a watch. I love it.

Noted doglady and thank you for the advice on foreign languages I had thought of that you have reinforced my thoughts.
I have a tattoo on my foot that was supposed to be a letter 'M' but turns out chinese dont have a literal alphabet and it actually means their equivelant to 'Bonnie'???
I was young, naive and drunk at the time! Oh well we live and learn; hence being more cautious this time.

Hi Lulabubble I think its beautiful to have ur child's name tattooed. I have a daisy tattoo on my lower back after my lovely dog Daisy so she will be with me forever.
I want to have my daughters name underneath this but not sure what to have - her full name or the name she goes by. I think I'd have it in English but a pretty script. I'd never have a partners name - they come and go but not ur children. Elaine x

Just thought of an episode of Miami Ink I saw recently, where a guy wanted his son's name on him. He got his son to write his name on his chest (the son was writing on his dad - that came out a bit wrong!!), and used that as the stencil. So the tattoo was in childish writing, but in his son's writing.
It was such a sweet idea.
If your daughter is old enough to write, you could do that, or if she is too young you could hold off for a few years until she can.
If she is older, and can write perfectly well, you could always do it anyway. It would be nice to have it in her writing!!
