What are the chances of my baby having Ginger hair I have red hair and so do ny Brothers my parents are both dark brown and my partner is Blonde?

i wouldnt worry about it, i know your baby will be loved and cherished whatever hair colour it has, by the way i love little kids with ginger hair they're so sweet and beautiful, chesney from corrie is a shining example, and rupert grint.

It's all to do with your dominant and recessive allelles I'm afraid ginet. And whether they're Homozygous or Heterozygous.

I have naturally dark brown hair,and so did my parents.My ex had dark hair and yet our son had bright red hair when he was born which was a total shock but he looked gorgeous(still does!).Apparently my ex's dad had red hair and it skipped a generation and reappeared in my son.His hair has now darkened considerably but I loved it when he was born.Why are you asking out of interest?

There is no ginger in our family or my daughters partners as far as we know. I have four granchildren, three are blonde going darker as they have got older. The last one who has just turned a year old is a proper carrot top. I also had a friend years back where there was no ginger haired people as far as she knew in her family and her hair was auburn. So you never know.

My niece has strawberry blonde corkscrew curls and it's GORGEOUS! It always amazes me that people say they don't like ginger/red hair yet so many people dye their hair that very colour!
