Goa India
I want to go to Goa with my girlfriend in the New Year and am thinking about leaving it until the very last minute to book (ie a couple of days) to try and get a really good bargain. Has anyone any experience of doing this or am I liable to get disappointed. We have already got our visas.
Many thanks

You must remember though it is a third world country and the differences between the tourist areas and other parts can be quite shocking but all in all it's a beautiful country and if I was up to the long haul we'd probably still be holidaying there.
It used to be the case (certainly back in the 70's and 80's) that you could get some real bargain holidays by booking at the last minute. Even then though you weren't guaranteed to be able to get a holiday in a certain place.
These days, though I'm sure there's always the exception to the rule, it is generally cheaper the sooner you book. As a test why don't you go on a website and try to book (you don't have to go through to the payment page) the holiday you want leaving in a couple of days, and then go on again and try booking it in about 9 months time. Is there any difference in price?

disappointed DONT DO IT! you might not even get anything now. i work as a travel agent and its gonna be a lot of money unless there is a deal around but the likely chance of that is very low. plus its not just the flights you need to worry about. its the availability of the hotel that you are staying at. call them now to see if they have anything.
plus over new years its gonna be tight.
