i am having a few problems with my laptop ie running very slow /software not running proper how can i wipe all software off and re install it to clean my computer

You'll need the original Windows CD or recovery discs that came with the laptop...

That drastic answer may not be the solution, attendant.

Have you updated your spyware/antivirus software and run them in safe mode?

You should at the very least run ewido, spybot and X cleaner which are all free downloads.

Have you cleared your cache and cookies, which can cause your pc to slow down if not done regularly?

Is your fan running properly?

Have a look at your task manager and see if anything is using up all the resources.

Try simple things like the above first.

Is it asking you where you want to install Windows? Do you type the letter C or are you choosing it from a list? If you type it, you might have to type C and a colon (C:), not C/

If you're choosing it from a list, what happens? Is there an error message?

How old is the laptop - did you have it from new??

could also check if it needs de-frag,sometimes it helps. Like ETHEL says,that's a drastic solution before trying everything else
