Organise Mobile Bookmarks

I am on ios11 using iPad mini. Over a considerable time I have accumulated
loads of mobile Bookmarks, so much so that it is almost as quick to use Google to find what I need than search through my bookmarks. What I need to do is organise them in alphabetical order.. Tried advice on line without
success. Hope someone out there can give me “dummy” advice ? Thanks Tel

You can organise your bookmarks by tapping on the spectacle symbol to open the bookmark list and them dragging them into whichever order you want. If you have lots very tedious

Don’t have a spectacle symbol, not that I can see.

It’s the book symbol to the left of the address bar which will open a sidebar with three icons, a book (bookmarks), glasses (reading list) and a clock (history). The most usual way of organising bookmarks is to sort them into folders, reference, shopping etc. and then to sort them how you will within the folders. There is no way to sort alphabetically on the iPad as far as I’m aware

Now this is where you tell us you aren’t using Safari but some other browser ;-)
