There is a place nearby called Portmeirion, it is worth a visit,if the weather is nice head towards Caernarfon airfield, just at the side of this, there is a beautiful beach, called Dinas Dinlle, The Slate mines in Blaenau Ffestiniog are worth visiting, you can catch the miniature train from Porthmadog to Blaenau, very scenic ride, there are a few castles, Caernarfon,Conwy, there is a ski slope in Llandudno, A mountain zoo in Colwyn Bay, I know these aren't right on the doorstep but worth driving to, also not far from there is Barmouth, nice beach & Funfair, there is a Bowling alley in Llandudno, also just call into the tourist information centre, near the Marina, have a lovely break, Ray.

Hi silver,
forgot to say, just outside Porthmadog,is a little cove called Borth Y Gest, If you get a lovely sunny day,get youself some fish & chips in Porthmadog drive to Borth,in the evening and sit up on the top and watch the sunset,it is a beautiful spot, don't tell anybody else about it though, Promise me now, Ray

Hi silver,
I live about 20 miles from there,we go over and buy the chips and sit up on the top sometimes, the sunsets are beautiful, when you get into borth y gest, bear to the right, drive as far as you can, only about a quarter mile, you will see a footpath in front of you, walk up there and you will find some benches, sure you will love it,hope so anyway, have a nice break, Ray
