I have just thrown out my george foreman but am wondering whether to buy another one or basic sandwich maker.

I did only use george for the sandwiches although sandwich were a bit flat etc and when I used to own a sandwich maker found the cheese ran down the side and hard to keep clean

Anybody advise what to buy. Never used george for sausages etc. T

I've had both a sandwich maker and a George Forman grill. They are both the kind of thing that ends up in a cupboard after at most 2 uses. I wouldn't bother, Jenny.

Yes you're right about the usage, even tho it was old I could count the times I used it but when I did - sambos were tasty and different

that's why I won't buy Airfryer - in fact I now draw the line at any more gadgets - my shed is full of electric appliances never opened.

I'm a rich woman dead when whoever it'll be then sell them on as they are still in boxes LOL
Don't waste your money. My foreman was binned.
Use the foreman quite a lot for steaks...chops etc..have a panini machine which is also well used...as is my air fryer, bread maker and soup maker...got rid of juicer and ice cream maker..

think I'll go for the sandwich maker and if I can with removable plates - do like an odd toastie
I have one with removable plates - a Breville easy clean - though I got it ages ago.
Do you have a toaster Jenny, if so this might be your answer:-

Danny you could buy me a couple with your impending win. LOL
Jenny, lol.
My Mother loved her "George Formby" as she called it. However I much prefer my Panini maker. It makes lovely Paninis and anything else being toasted both sides.

I thoroughly recommend the diablo, as shown above. It's a stove-top device, so no cables etc...it's cheap...and the contents of your toasties are limited only by your own imagination! A standard lunchtime device for me.

Thanks Quiz - but my daddy told me to eat my crusts to get curly hair LOL.

Am going to go for the Breville as stated by Toorak - a variance on prices but the cheapest is Ebay. Thanks everyone for your input on this big decision I have to make LOL
George forman is only good for making sandwiches - steaks on it come out grey and nasty - doesnt get hot enough to cook them.
Go for a removable plate toastie machine

have gone for it and paid for it - get it on Tuesday
