Candles

Ive posted before about my love of candles, always have at least a few candles on at night.
Tonight I had on (and still have on) 24 candles of various shapes, sizes and colours around my living room. Also have a normal lamp and 2 Himalayan salt lamps.
Had a power cut in the street for about 1/2 hr an hour ago so was just left with candle light. My sons girlfriend remarked how peaceful it seemed in my living room with nothing but candle light. Couldn't disagree, it seemed almost magical compared to the normal way of rooms been lighted...lamps, TV's, computer screens, outside lamps shining in, etc.
Something primal about 'fire'.
No question, just an observation. Ta!

Couldn't agree more. I light candles all round my living room and light the fire and I'm in heaven.

There is something soothing about candles and an open fire but I am terrified of them.

My nephews buy me those is it Yankee Candles every Christmas but I bring them to the thrifty.

We often have just candlelight and the open firelight, it's fabulous, and nothing like sleeping by a fire either, one of my favourite things especially outside x

Oh that brings back such memories, kval. Sleeping next to the campfire, under a star laden sky on a ben in Scotland.

Then being woken at 5 am by midges.....

Actually No Anne, they're not Jo Malones. They are more expensive than mine.
The ones I get are "After the Rain" by Arran Aromatics (on the Isle of Arran). They are their best sellers.

M&S do a Neroli, Lime & Basil candle which is heaven scent :@)

They do room spray too.

I get my facial gel wash from Arran Aromatics. They have great stuff.

Must look on their website. I'm into L'Occitane en Provence at the moment. Their almond hand cream is great.
