Piccolo

At a quiz last night the question was, which orchestral woodwind musical instument has the highest range. We, along with others said the piccolo and were judged correct. Later one of our group said they thought there was a higher pitched one but couldn't remember which one. They seemed totally convinced of this. Are they possibly correct?

This says it is the piccolo that has the highest notes.

Thanks EdmundD. We were sure we were right but as I say, they seemed convinced.
It was of those 'it's on the tip of my tongue' moments which was doing their head in :-)
