Had a phone call whilst out of the country from a number My mobile didn’t recognise. Was going to just let it ring off as they do, but the wife said answer it. She who must be obeyed. He was paying there’ll anyway. Chap said he was from Robinson and Walker asked if he was speaking to me. Knew my name. I said if your selling PPI or double glazing I’m not interested. Could I have your date of birth he said. Who are you and what is your company I said. He said I can’t tell you as it’s breach of data. Just kept saying. Am I talking to Mr ******. And can I have your date of birth. So I said you want me to confirm my name and give you my date of birth and that’s not breach of data. He went on to say can we contact you by mail. I said you can try mailing me here but I’m out of the country and don’t know when I’ll be back.
If you get an unrecognised call ,do not reply or answer ,just use this site to find out who it was
https://whocallsme.com/
If it's safe then call back, or answer the next time they call.
You could have given an incorrect date of birth to see what the response was. It's odd that they didn't give a more more info as to why they were ringing.
you were quicket than me
I have taken a few years to realise that if the Dat act means the caller cant give me their details
then it doesnt allow you to supply your own details
the council clerk tried that
and couldnt believe it when I said
'well you will never know the answer then'
.. It's odd that they didn't give a more more info as to why they were ringing...
odd-ish - one rang on 21 consecutive days for Mr X
and the reason why Mr X on days 19-21 was out - were
buying me fish and chips
posting a letter
and in the local library
Take your point bhg. But my house is like Fort Knox plenty of security measures, the neighbours are good and aware of comings and goings and anything unusual
