Fiesta reversing light

I have a 1995 fiesta van and the reversing light does not work, have changed bulb - Any suggestions please

check the fuse but i think the reverse light switch on the top of the gearbox might be the prob! if u know a bit about cars u can check this urself!! at the top of the gearbox (usually) there is a white looking part which is clipped or bolted on to the box where a multiplug is also on it, take the multiplug off and using a paperclip or bit of wire bridge the multiplug and switch the ignition on the lights should come on, if the do then the reverse switch req replaced if not then its a prob with the power to the switch but i reckon its the switch, remember to switch the ignition off be fore u touch the paperclip or wire as u may blow a fuse and get a wee shock of it

The Reverse switch is an Earth switch test the wire to earth with the ignition on it should work. As the others said check the bulb and the fuse. You dont get a shock on toching 12volt electrics only the HT leads and coil.

I can't count the number of times I got lit ion 12v electrics.

on a fiesta the reverse light is on the front of the gearbox (not top on mk 3's) just simply pull the plug out and clean it and maybe that all sort it
