Help with my dissertation
19 Answers
i have completed all of my course work and exams but i have my dissertation to complete in order to gain my Bsc. The problem is i am now in full time employment and do not have the time nor motivation to carry with my dissertation. I have now begun working on it again after about 1 year but i feel lost! Can anyone help with ideas, or provide me with a copy of their dissertation or otherwise.
The proposed topic of my Dissertation is : Evaluating the success/failures of IT projects in the NHS using NPfIT as a case study.
Thanks

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I assume your dissertation will be c.10,000 words ? You could easily achieve this by conducting a little survey of the opinions of NHS staff on this topic.
Keep your survey local (no postage, no travelling) and limit it to N=40. Suggest you use a Likert Scale to rate the opinions.
Any friend who is computer-competant could do the 'number crunching' for you, and produce a sheaf of impressive pie-charts and histograms from the data. Then comment broadly on the results obtained, and Bob's-your uncle.
Many, many such dissertations of this type are available in the library of your nearest University. Tell the librarian what you seek and you will be surprised at the help such a person can offer. Good luck.

i cannot believe you have the cheek to come on here and ask us to provide you with a dissertation simply because you can't get motivated/bothered to do it yourself!!!
i know dissertations are hard work - but they are meant to be!
some kids come on here wanting essays done or lengthy answers written - but a dissertation!!!
un-******-believable!!!

Ibi, I have written, and marked, many dissertations for first degrees and Masters. Take my tip: keep the topic simple.
A good title would be;
'The views of users of information technology in the NHS'
This leaves it wide open for anyone to air their opinions, and virtually everyone has opinions. Forget the case study and NPT - too limiting..
Put together a questionnaire with lots of questions which can be easily answered by ticking boxes, on a 1 to 6 scale,
ranging from Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree.
Personal data of your respondents, Male /Female, age group, type of job, length of service etc. can then be matched against their replies. All this, together with your comments on the graphs which are generated by computer, will be well over the 10,000 word limit. That's the real problem - editing..
Lastly, add the actual quetionnaires to your dissertation as Appendix material. so they don't overwhelm your word-count.
Have a go, Ibi, I wrote my first dissertation in 2 weeks, while working full-time. Great fun.

3. Make steady movement to write. Writing little every day can be effective dont wait for continuous blocks of time, writing 45 minutes daily can be effective and keeps the topic fresh into your mind.
Use self rewards to beat procrastination, and accept that writing is a time consuming task so dont rush your self write and rewrite your content and chapters when you find yourself stuck up in further writing.
