Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

When i completed the puzzle yesterday I put in ODDS straightaway (chances etc) but now you have me thinking!
If you have any more thoughts come back and i'll do likewise. Cheers K

If you take the odd letters out of counsel, ( c, u, s, & l ) you are left with o n e. Answer : Odds!

Thanks, both. Pretty convoluted, I must say. If I get stuck on a crossword it always seems to be on four-letter words, probably because there tend to be more options. Have been doing the cryptic Jumbo since about 1999 (must have sent in well over 200), back in the days when it was a larger grid - still haven't won, tho have won the Sat prize cryptic and the ST prize cryptic (the silver Cross fountain pen). What about you, Kayakamina, any wins? I'm always seeing your name on AB helping cryptic strugglers!

Never won the Jumbo. Have had a bit of success with the Guardian Prize , Times and one Azed. I'm entering on line now but i don't know if it makes any difference to the chances of winning but it is much more convenient (and cheaper) Cheers K
