When I was a child (and that's a long time ago) I went with my dad in the car to some road which appeared to be a hill, by some illusion created by the surrounding landscape, but which was actually flat. This would have been in Yorkshire. Anyone got any ideas where this was?
wel if you drive over the tops round Blackshaw it is like that, the moors are flat either side of the road and the dry stone walls make everything look straight and uniform.
Thanks Heathfield. I've printed out the two maps, and if ever I'm up there, I'll check it out. Keep thinking of hiring a camper van and taking ourselves up there-maybe this is just the motivation we need Thanks again. B.x
