Any Mechanical wizards out there? Penny falls machine, how can I make one?

I love the penny falls machines at the seaside. I don't have room at home for a real one and the toy versions in Maplins just don't do it for me. I'd like to make a smaller scale of the arcade one, any ideas how it could be done?

Get the name of one of the machines and see if the compaines have any old drawings of how they work etc if not then ask the guy behind the arcade he may know.
Have you ever tried exchange and mart? thats where my dad used to buy his machines from, they usually have loads second hand small or big.

to build one would take alot of time , but im sure if you had some sort of drawing to go from then it would be much easier then scale it down
