can anyone recommend a nice hotel or guest house in the Bamburgh or Berwick-Upon-Tweed areas? I prefer modern and relaxing and quiet if poss

Stayed once in Berwick years ago for a wedding and stayed in The Walls.
Sorry don't know the address and it was only for one night, but it was great.

Hi Dee. Recently in the Saturday Times The Cookie Jar in Alnwick was given a very good review, and described it as being 'like a private members' club', and 'plush and tasteful'. It has 11 rooms, and B+B is from£140

Bamburgh and Berwick are not that far apart. Bamburgh has lovely, unspoilt beaches. It is only a few miles from Seahouses which is slightly more commercial but where you can get boat trips to the Farne Islands.

This is superb, it's about a 10 minutes drive from Bamburgh, just the other side of the A1, the rooms are lovely and the breakfast is wonderful.

This is nearer Bamburgh than Berwick but is on the A1 and therefore handy for everywhere.
