Yes, it is possible to have a false negative due to lack of sufficient HCG hormone in your system. However it is impossible to have a false positive result.
How many tests did you do, and how late was your period?
pippas right false negatives are quite common. Try a First response test as they can pick up smaller amounts of hormone, which is why they can be used a few days before period is due.
I am now round 11 days late. My period is fairly irregular and my cycle is generally between 29 days (the last two months) and 35 days. This cycle is currently running at 39 days. I know the obvious answer is ti take another test - I used clear blue by the way - but I dont want to get my self all worked up again!!
arent you worked up by not knowing? Surely thats why you are posting the question.
Id say to take a test today, if thats negative then repeat in 3 days time. If after 4 tests they are all still negative then its probably just a missing or late period.
you have a point redcrx - but to be honest as long as I dont know for sure I can day dream that I am pregnant, once I know for sure that I am not pregnant then all I am left with is an irregular cycle which will make it harder to get pregnant. Pathetic I know - I will do a test tonight. Should I buy a fresh one as the one I have at home came in the pack with the other one which might have been incorrect.
dont be silly, theres nothing more worrying than waiting to conceive. Ive seen many women go through it each month and the fear of not being pregnant is awful for them. You just test when you feel ready.
lol i love rusks, dont you???
I have a rather energetic 12month old son. They are harder to keep than chickens but worth every second. Youll get there.
