I am considering changing from any of “the top 6”energy suppliers to a much less known company like “Engie” or “Bulb” but first I would like to hear what you guys have any experience on such a move. Thanks.
We switched about 8 years ago to Utility Warehouse for gas, electricity, phone and broadband. My Good Lady thoroughly researched the company and even became a freelance agent for them for about 2 years.
They are a no-fuss, low profile company, who leave you alone, but actually have humans at the end of phones if you have any queries/problems; their service is excellent.
The top three rated companies are Utility Warehouse, Flow Energy and Octopus Energy....the latter getting the ultimate accolade of Which? Recommended Supplier 2018.
We switched from EDF to Octopus late last year. It's one of the companies which gets excellent customer service reports and is also good for prices. Switching was simple and trouble-free.
OVO are a 'mid range' supplier - not 'big six', but rather bigger than most of the other suppliers.
I've used them for several years (with a routine "is this really your best price?" conversation at renewal time - they then always get very near to the best price I could get by switching) - their Customer Service has been excellent and their billing/usage app works very well.
There are so many different suppliers now that it can be very bewildering. Some don't operate in all areas so put your postcode in first to check. We have just gone with one of the smaller newer companies . Moved to Bulb and so far have been happy . Clear and informative site using easy to understand language. Much cheaper than our last supplier .
