Scanning

I have got some photocopies of photos. I want to get them from my Canon MP270 printer on to my computer desktop. I have got windows 7 and Microsoft Word, if that helps.
Ultimately, I want to send the photocopy off as an attachment in an e-mail, once it is on the desktop, but I know how to do this.
Can anyone help please?

Seems this printer DOES have a scanner.

Place the photo face down on the printers "glass"

Select the Scanner option (I don't know where it is as it varies from printer to printer)

This should scan the image in and store it in your MyPictures folder (though this may vary from printer to printer) as a JPG file.

It will call it something like IMAGE001 (the name will vary printer by printer). The next image will be IMAGE002 and so on.

You can rename them if you wish.

Open your email program and start a new email. Add the email address of the person you want to send it to.

There may be a "paperclip" icon for adding attachments (again this may vary depending on the email program you are using).

Select the paperclip (or the Attach option) and navigate to your image in the MyPictures folder (or wherever it is stored)

Type the text for your email

Then send your email

Only send one attachment per email as some email programs have a limit on the size of an email.

It is also best to do one email as a test to check with the other person if they got it before sending further emails.

I think that you also have to have MP Navigator software installed as well. I have.

Note you don't have to put the image in Word (or use Word at all) to send this photo as an attachment.

If you follow my instructions above it does not mention Word nor does Word need to be used.

Having set mine up ages ago I just do this.

1- From computer, click Start, All Programs, Accessories
2- Click on Paint to open it
3- Click File, and select "From Scanner."
4- Make any changes you would like and click "Scan"

I scan the item, it stores it in the relevant folder, I open up that folder, open up email program and attach the photo to the email.
