When on the desktop go to the main meny and select View
then View Options' That allows you to increase text size and other options.
These might also be helpful:
System Prefs --> Accessibility --> Display
allows you to modify screen contrast and cursor size.
Alternatively, you can change he screen resolution to make everything bigger
System Prefs --> Displays --> scaled
select the display resolution that makes things more visible.
