Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Thanks for answers, joke, and from Flonska the previous enquiry. Why on earth don't people use specific headings eg 28719; "Daily Telegraph Saturday 21/04/18" by Kenstuck is inadequate- no puzzle or clue

Maybe because they don't know how to fill in the boxes? The "ask" box says "enter question here" and people simply free format information in that box. If this box were to be removed/moved lower down so that posters fill in the Paper/Quiz, Quiz No, Publication Date and Puzzle type boxes first and then, (if they knew), then "press" the "build title" button, they will see all those relevant (and accurate) details displayed. It might also be an idea to have a permanent facility hidden behind a "HELP" button which when clicked reveals things like how to ask a question, how to answer/reply, what the protocols are, when/why a thread is closed etc and other useful hints/tips - including how to search for previous answers? Perhaps those who design the web page could/should look into this?
