Many years ago I read "In the Shadow of Man" by Jane Goodall.
It is about a troop of chimpanzees in Tanzania, and Jane's life observing them.
I thought it was excellent.
what I am reading (well re reading) are the Rivers of London series and Georgette Heyer. I don't recommend books to anyone but you asked what people are reading
Thank you all for your answers. I have made a note of them all. Felix the railway cat was the last book I bought. I havent read it yet but I thought it looked good. If anyone else enjoys true cat stories I thoroughly recommend "Casper the commuting cat" by Susan Finden.
I've enjoyed the series of books about cats by Deric Longden, Doreen Tovey and Marilyn Edwards. I also have Dewey by Vicki Myron and Under the Paw by Tom Cox but haven't read those yet.
"On Cats" by Doris Lessing...all the cats she'd lived with over many years.
Also "Stray" by AN Wilson...a stray cats autobiography. Thoroughly convincing and well written.
Paul O'Grady has written a few books on Battersea Cats and Dogs Home, all of which are excellent in my opinion. My favourite autobiography was The Moon's a Balloon by David Niven, very funny. If you like a good thriller, you can't beat anything by Douglas Kennedy, especially The Pursuit of Happiness.
