If the story of Jesus had been authored by man, then He would have been a mighty warrior, a dashing hero, skilled in sword and battle.
Instead He was beaten, weakened, screaming in pain as He hung on the cross, and those looking on did not know they were witnessing the greatest battle and victory in the history of the world. How amazing is our God.
The weak, despised, shamed, anti hero, completely alone, fighting alone, accomplished this greatest of all triumphs - for us.
No human hand could ever have conceived of such an idea.
Praise the Lord for His wisdom end love.

Nailit, it would be good to have a serious discussion about the historical(?) Jesus, who and what he was or might have been, but I doubt Theland will ever be party to such deliberations.

There is no "historical" Jesus. The first written reference is to what is effectively already a legend where no living person was a contemporary.

beso, true, there are no reports from the time, but I wouldn't dream of claiming that I know something that no one else does - that definitively, the man Jesus never existed. The city of Troy was believed to be mythical .... until it was discovered.

Its author cannot be said to be without a pre-conceived agenda – not an asset to anyone seeking the truth - and neither can the administrators of the website who claim its ‘mission is to bring the best Biblical Scholarship right to your home’. That, together with a short perusal of articles common to that site should, to any rational mind, start alarm bells ringing.

Naomi , people can click on the article and see for themselves . The article is referenced , citing academics who have studied extensively - perhaps the author does have a preconceived agenda - would you object if I said I thought you had a preconceived agenda ?
Feel free to tear the piece to shreds , someone will probably come along and tear what you've written to shreds .
