Creepy Buildings
29 Answers
My farmer neighbour was called away last night and asked me to go into the house this morning to let the dog out, which I duly did. However, on entering the house, which I’ve never been in before, for no apparent reason I got an attack of ‘the creeps’. So pleased it’s a nice sunny morning. I would hate to go there in the dark! Have you ever been into a building that has instantly given you ‘the creeps’?

He was told he could invite a friend to listen to the superb sound-system, so I went along. The house felt creepy from the start, and got worse. the cats started walking about with backs arched and fur standing on end, then they soon left altogether. It got so bad that I wanted to leave too. Eventually, the creepiness suddenly disappeared. we looked at our watches and found it was midnight. Later we heard that the owner and his wife had had many dreadful bitter rows there before splitting up. Was the house the cause, we wondered, or did it somehow absorb some of the bitterness ? Most uncomfortable place I have ever been in.

No, but not for the lack of trying. I have been in many old buildings hoping to see/feel something creepy, something just not right...failed everytime.
The nearest was a cellar at Colditz Castle. You weren't actually allowed in the cellar but well I guess I had to see what secrets they were hiding down there.
I crept down the stairs in almost total darkness, treading on some odd feeling spongy things on the way down and on many more when I got to bottom of the stairs. At this point my mate had managed to locate the light switch and turned on the light.
No ghosts but my worst nightmare... I then could see I was surrounded by dead rats about a hundred of the *** :0/

When I was about 9, my parents were looking at buying their first house. We went to view oodles....
One house had a very unsettling atmosphere.....quite sinister. Discussing the properties later on I gave voice to my feelings, Mum said, "me, too" and Dad said he didnt like the place but didn't go as far as to agree with Mum and I.
In a follow-up conversation with the Estate Agent he confided that many viewers said they found the atmosphere oppressive.......and then told us that the previous owner had recently died in it.
I think the fact that she was called Mrs Skull was just an odd coincidence.....LoL

In a similar vein to Talbot's post. While in the army, i was stationed in Hohne which is almost literally a stone's throw from Belsen. Whenever we had to drive past there, i could feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. Although, in retrospect, it may have been because i knew what had taken place there only 30 years previous.
Not a creepy building story but still very weird. (and better if you knew the kids)
Last night I was looking through old photos stored on a hard-drive.
On one of them I spotted the sister in laws child just to the right of my son... she is 4 and the photo was taken 11 years ago.
I cropped out my son and shown the picture to several members of the family... they all said it was my sister in laws child.
creepy.

We were looking at properties in The Staffordshire Moorlands. We went to view a lovely bungalow which had everything and more that we expected. It was ideal.
We viewed the kitchen, utility, front room, sitting rooms, bathrooms, and bedrooms. On viewing the third bedroom, as the door opened, I felt a sudden chill. On entering, I became colder and colder. This, I subsequently found out, had been the bedroom of the last resident who had been found dead in her bed. No way could I have bought that place. It really gave me the creeps.
