Just read the Jones article. Wasn't there a program on C5(?) a while ago examining the origins of Islam, mentioning among other things the geographical incongruities which Jones alludes to? I think it was intended as a four-parter, but didn't survive the first episode on account of its having upset somebody important. (Or maybe my memory's playing tricks on me).
Now there was a recent discovery of a possible Koranic text at Birmingham University, wasn't there? It varied from the Uthman codex. Must see if I can root out the full story.
No, the text agreed with the Uthman codex. There was a controversy arising from the dating, with the earliest date suggesting that the Koran, or parts thereof, preceded Mohammed (as Jones does in the article).
What is clear is that whoever wrote it has got oceans of innocent blood on his/her hands and will be spending their eternity in the hot place, the rat.
