Summer Is Here

spent all morning taking down winter curtains and soft furnishings throughout the house and replacing them with Summer creams...pooped, but summer is now officially here... on that note the sun has emerged ! am I alone in this tradition ?

Yes I thought that about moving there, too, gness. The first time I went in 1986, I was there for their Dia do Bombeiro - a mad day of parading with fire service bands and everyone having a high old time. Couldn't believe that beach on the island when I first saw it, haven't been back since 2004 (sigh).

Don't know what all this talk of 'summer is here' is about: in the Cotswolds it's been cold and raining for the past three days. Heating on at night, and so's my electric blanket. Shan't bother taking the latter when I move to Tav....

I hope you can get back soon GG......the people are just so friendly and helpful and nobody ever seems grumpy...the food and wine is wonderful and yes, the beaches are bliss for an evening wander and paddle...
Not sure how the height of the summer would be as I've only been in spring and autumn and the language I find difficult to learn although they all speak English to my shame..

Maybe another bad UK summer or two and I'll pack up my sewing machine and teach yourself Portuguease cds and head off.....x

my parents use to move our living room twice a year - in the back in winter and in the front in summer - what an effort

Blimey, Bednobs!!! That was a lot of effort......but I guess we once had winters and summers....

Anyway, just to annoy you all the temp had dropped here to twelve degrees....it's raining a little and a breeze is getting up so my new hot friend and I are off outside for a drink to enjoy the wet and cold...... :-)

Another fantastic Parador meal, Minty....lovely banter with the staff and the other guests.....everyone seems so cheery in this atmosphere....
Now considering a holiday of just Spanish Paradors so may ask you for some tips.....
Nightcap now and sleep in a finally cool room.......xx
