I heard about it from a teacher friend of mine who is going to be using it as a writing 'event' for her pupils.

I don't know why I didn't know about it when I was teaching. It's an annual event. How did I miss that?

Really!! Well I didn't know either and we were quite good at looking outside the school for imaginative things for our children to take part in.....

I think I will have a go as well. I've always loved reading the diaries of others...sometimes the thoughts and lives of ordinary people seem closer to being "real" history than what's in textbooks.
I read The Diaries of Nella Last ( housewife 49 )a number of years ago...fascinating.

I'm very interested in doing it, and have told a few people about it too.
I would have applied to be a regular Observer, too, but at the moment they are only looking for men aged 16-44 who don't live in the south-east.
Never mind! At least I can do the one day thing!
