. . . how about something a bit different musically?

Here's 13-year-old Dutch lad, Jesse Pardon, proving that he can sing a bit:

He is blind but has rhythm

I used to be a Cub Scout Leader with blind kids, Tamborine, so I'm never surprised by what some of them can do. (As a qualified chess coach, it's embarrassing to be beaten at the game by an 8-year-old who can't even see the board!)

Nice video. Thanks!

For a video that really tugs at your heart strings though , try this from another Dutch kid, 10-year-old Bodi, who's singing the song that was played at his mother's funeral:

BTW, I've just noticed Mamyalynne sneaking into Q&P. She obviously can't stay away from AB!
I don't sneak ;-) am just winding down.

Good evening, Mamya!

Do you think young Jesse's got a decent voice?

(He's had several leading roles in professional stage productions in the Netherlands. I reckon that he could well be on course to be a future star of Broadway and West End theatre)
I'll have to listen tomorrow, too many asleep here just now and one with a 4.30 am alarm call.
Wow, what talented children. The first one had me. That was five years ago, what is he doing now?

I suspect that he's spending much of his time on his school studies, Clover. Google finds quite a few references to him appearing on stage when he was a bit younger than now but perhaps he's currently got exams (and/or girls!) on his mind.

Here's another great voice. (14-year-old German boy, Theodore):

Luv his enterprise to earn his keep

How the hell have you done that, Tamborine?

There are several billion Youtube videos but the very next bookmark in my browser (after the one for my original post above) is for a video of young Ky Baldwin!

Sry to spoil ur thunder of talented kids & to add I too have worn the akela hat, taking ANZAC cubs to jamboree in the Malaysian jungle where we disturbed snakes which took flight upon their tails past us. I still dont know what sort of snakes do that?
OP very good that young Fella... our bunch needed some musicians to back them up.

I used to watch it back then.

Wow, Arksided!

That's a very mixed bunch of performers, with several very good ones and a few that wouldn't get very far in an average pub karaoke contest!

For another great voice from a youngster, check out 13-year-old Russian, Ivan Iastrebov, singing 'Дорогой длинною' ('Dorogoy Dlinnoyu'). It's a Russian folk song that was ruined when Gene Raskin gave it English lyrics (in 'Those Were The Days') but retains it's power in this fantastic rendition of the original:

(Move the slider to 1m 45s to get to the start of the performance)

OP, yep that young man can sing without doubt even though I'm not familiar with the song or understood what he was singing about but do recognise a good voice.
