Amazing achievement by Shaun Dyche and his staff. Well done! The last time Burnley were in Europe, the fans were banned from the ferry for damaging the sails and the cannons.

Yes Clarion..amazing.
I remember when the club was owned by Bob Lord....I think that he was a local butcher in Burnley.
He's a good manager who does a lot with minimal resources. Well done Burnley

Squad, I met Bob Lord back in the 70's, when I was involved with amateur football. I found him a bit brash but he seemed to get things done.
LOL....I never met the chap...but he certainly was the boss.
It's great when a club other than the well known ones does well. Good on 'em.
Wasn't Bob Lord the guy who wouldn't allow the BBC cameras in which meant Burnley fans didn't get to see their team on match of the day?
Bob....quite correct.
I thought it was, I'm sure Bob Lord would have no issues with BBC/SKY cameras covering Burnley matches today, money talks lol.
And the programmes were in Latin...
Just been brought back down to Earth with an almighty bump today, though, with a 5-0 thrashing away at Arsenal. OUCH! Still, we have one more match - home to Bournemouth - to end the season on a high.
Bob Lord ruled Burnley FC with an iron fist and alienated many people - including many fans when he sold Jimmy McIlroy - inside and outside the club. He wasn't afraid to stick up for issues he strongly believed in - including banning televised matches which he believed would hit attendances and Sunday football. Definitely a Marmite character, he single-handedly took BFC through some of our most illustrious days.
Now it's time for a new chapter to be written :-) UTC.
We picked up this bit of news when our vicar (a Burnley lass) marched into church in full vestments with her arms held high and chanting 'Burnley...Burnley!' To her credit, she didn't mention it in her sermon - evidently a lot of happy Lancs. bunnies around.

Well done them! :)
