Can only see Barm Brack which is Irish bread, but can't fit it to the clue apart from the Bar.

Very good VE - a new one to me.
As a local west London boy I'm very familiar with your traditional naans and parathas, Dave, but not at all with this exotic "bara brith" stuff.

Where did that come from?

We could do with a TV program along the lines of BBC2's(?) excellent "Nai Zindagi, Naya Jeevan" back in the early eighties to get us acquainted with this Welsh culture.
Anybody else remember the program. New wife and I loved it. (living in Southall at that time).

NW certainly, but whether the language was Gujarati, Punjabi, Kashmiri, or even Urdu, who knows?
