At least you wont get arrested at the airport! Is this what a German led EU will become? Ok I'm no fan of taking kids out of school for Holidays but ultimately it's a matter for the parents. This reeks of police state tactics to me.

young - yes, I was friends with the whole class. I was in a small primary school with 20 or so pupils in each class, one class per year, and yes, we were all friends and no one gave a monkeys when we went on holiday. I guess I was lucky people/children/my friends weren't bitter individuals.
And as for your question about if the whole class disappeared, it's a silly question as it would never happen. I assume the teacher would enjoy the peace and quiet should it ever happen though!

Teachers are not enjoying the peace and quiet that happens if half the class are away. In fact a lot of them are sick and tired of parents taking kids out of term time lessons .It's very disruptive and means an awful lot of extra work sorting out study work for each child. If I was a teacher I'd leave them to catch up on their lessons by themselves when they get back from holiday.
