That’S It

Further to my recent post Tough Choices.
Molly has been booked in for Monday.
The vet that has been caring for her is busy that week with surgeries so the lovely vet that has been caring for our Teddy is going to do it for us. I’d trust her with my life as well as that of my furries.
Her last few days are going to be special...will involve a lot of chicken I’d imagine.
Thank you everyone for all your thoughts on my last post. It’s made things a little easier to bear.

I walked up to my mum's house afterwards and she told me that we were going to get my grandad put to sleep next. It was another four years of Alzheimer's before he was allowed to drift away.
What you are doing is a good thing. It is the hardest bit of being owned by a cat. ♥

I’m trying Barmaid. I know the vet that’s going to do it very well and I know she will be in good hands. I don’t know if she will hear what we say but I think deep down she will know.
Aww bless Wolf...I’m owned by 5 others. It’s like having children sometimes. You never know which one to call for. If you need Molly you have to go get her. Dad will come with me. It’s Henry I feel bad for he looks out for Molly so much, he really cares for her so much.

I've had to say farewell to a few cats over the years. I make sure I have a bottle of fizz and once they are laid to rest, I crack the bottle, raise a toast to my furry friend and a life well lived and spend some time with my memories. And I keep the cork with a picture or a toy or something. I wish you all the best for Monday, Queenie. (That doesnt really sound right, but you know what I mean).
That’s a lovely idea Barmaid. I’m not a drinker, so I’ll think of something. I do know what you mean though :)
She’s going to be cremated Prudie, will get her ashes home and when I unpack Jess she will sit in a quiet corner and sleep peacefully with her mentor. When I get the garden sorted I’ll do a memorial garden for her and mum.

Dear Queenie
Feel warmth from the elderly cat on your lap,
Her paws stretching up when waked from her nap,
Contentedly snuggling with low gentle purr,
But so little flesh now under her fur.
Always some hope that her health may return,
Though serious troubles have taken their turn,
Just let her be tranquil to pass from her ills,
Without all the trauma of any more pills.
The time is approaching, so shrunken her frame,
For her to be sleeping, relieved of all pain,
The vet who has helped her will answer the plea,
When she has shown clearly she should be set free.
Weep not. She will be at peace.
(I'm so sorry) x

I'm so sorry to hear that. It is really heartbreaking I have had the unenviable task of saying goodbye to 2 very much loved cats that way. I know this might not help everyone but I am a writer and I wrote down all the memories I had of them in a journal with some photographs it brings me great comfort even now and I have another cat now Ive had her for 6 years. I know that you will have had very happy memories and love you shared.
