Any Paris regulars?

Hi all,

I am sending my in-laws to Paris for their 30th wedding anniversary and I need to find a decent hotel in a good location for visiting the top sites.

They are in their 50's and have never been to Paris before, but they would like a bit of nightlife (bars, restaurants etc) and a hotel in a lively/ideal - but not over the top - location.

ps, they don't know about this yet, so keep it quiet.

I can recommend the Hotel Excelsior which is just off Boulevard St Michel in rue Cujas, less than 10 minutes walk from Notre Dame. You can book direct on www.excelsior-paris-hotel.com . It's totally unpretentious so don't expect luxury but the price and location are excellent. I've stayed there a number of times and can't fault it.
