The difficulty is always going to be seeing past the stunning physical attraction of the lead actress.
Regardless of how good an actress she may or may not be, she labours under the disadvantage of a series that is trying hard to ignore her beauty by hiding it under a helmet and some mud, but failing completely, because her luminosity will always shine through.
One major issue is the inability to remove her eyebrows, which would render an element of 'plainness' to her features, because they are tattooed on.
This means that the concept of her being an 'ordinary' soldier, and trying to build plots around that, is simply doomed to failure.
Maybe they should re-cast again, there are dozens of actresses who could play this role, and be more suited to the actual character they have created.
Trying to turn a beautiful woman in an 'ordinary solider' is always going to be doomed to failure.
