Chicken From Hen Eggs

Sorry my question may be very simple but it is bothering me.
Question:
Do all hen eggs become chicken when mother hen sits on them?
When does the fertilization of these eggs take place?
The eggs sold in the supermarkets - are they fertilized but not allowed to hatch as chicken or they are not fertilised at all.
If so how is this is manipulated by the farmers?

Battery eggs are unfertilised, so if you buy them in the supermarket you're fine. If you stop at the side of the road in the country then you might buy fertilised eggs but they are perfectly fine to eat, we have chickens and as long as you remove the eggs they will not mature.

Remember a human female also has eggs and they are "laid" once a month when they have their monthly cycle.

Does not mean they are fertilized though.

Same applies to hens.

- dont keep cockerels with the hens - they will lay eggs anyway
